Board certified, Dr. Gonzalez is a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics (less than 10% of all orthodontists are Board Certified). He is also a board member of the Cleft Palate/Craniofacial Team at Methodist Hospital and Children’s Hospital of San Antonio (Santa Rosa). He is the only orthodontist in San Antonio that has been granted privileges in both hospitals.

Dr. Roy Gonzalez, Jr. is frequently recognized as a “Super Dentist” in Texas Monthly magazine and locally in San Antonio Scene magazine as a “Top Dentist” in the orthodontic community. He has also been recognized as one of “America’s Top Dentists” by the Consumer Research Council of America.

His professional affiliations include the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, Fellow of the American College of Dentists and Fellow of the International College of Dentists. Dr. Gonzalez has served as a clinical assistant professor at the University of Texas Dental School and instructed other doctors and students in orthodontic techniques. He has also served as an adjunct professor at the Harry Jersig School of the Deaf at Our Lady of the Lake University in the department of Speech and Language Pathology.
